There are always those initial pangs of fear when you quit a well-paid job in pursuit of the excitement and autonomy of small business ownership.
I know this too well, having done so myself only a couple of months ago.
I caught up with a young, dynamic and very successful small business owner yesterday - and one of the best pieces of advice she gave me was to have strategies in place for times when things may not be going so well. For her, one strategy was simply to read motivational quotes.
So, taking inspiration from her, here’s a little motivation for your Wednesday (and mine!) via a few of the world’s most inspiring leaders, past and present.
"Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity." - Oprah Winfrey
"The only way to do great work is to love what you do." - Steve Jobs
"If you can dream it, you can do it."
- Walt Disney
"What would you do if you weren’t afraid?"
- Sheryl Sandberg
"When everything seems to be going against you, remember an airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” - Henry Ford
"I didn’t get there by wishing for it or hoping for it, but by working for it.” - Estee Lauder
"Only a loser finds it impossible to accept a temporary setback. A winner asks why."
- Ita Buttrose
I hope wisdom from these great leaders will inspire you to pursue your passions at work and in life generally in 2017.
